Six Model 120 air-cooled recycling granulators have undergone trial runs and are being shipped to Egypt.

Air-cooled plastic pelletizers have become an ideal choice for plastic waste recycling due to their standout features: water-free cooling, a compact footprint, immediate drying upon cutting, and a high degree of automation. To meet the demands of Egypt’s high-temperature environment and the need for continuous, high-intensity production, the engineering team at Yangcheng Machinery carried out comprehensive, specialized customization and optimization for these six units:

1. Water-free dry granulation suitable for arid, high-temperature industrial zones
This batch of six pelletizers utilizes advanced, fully air-cooled cutting technology. After the plastic waste is melted via high-temperature screw extrusion, it is cut into pellets at high speed directly at the die head. The pellets are then rapidly conveyed by a high-pressure blower through multi-stage air-cooling ducts and into a cyclone separator. The entire granulation process operates without water, effectively resolving the Egyptian client’s concerns regarding water scarcity and wastewater treatment while lowering operational costs. Prior to delivery, the Yangcheng Machinery factory subjected the units to rigorous testing—including both continuous no-load runs and actual material processing trials—to ensure that every machine met technical standards for smooth screw operation, uniform heating, and seamless pellet cutting without adhesion.

Regarding packaging, and taking into account the humidity and rough handling associated with long-distance ocean freight, all six machines were encased in export-standard fumigated wooden crates. Critical components, electrical control cabinets, and screw-barrel assemblies were wrapped in multiple layers of anti-rust and moisture-proof protective film. This ensures the equipment remains in perfect condition for immediate use upon arrival in Cairo or Alexandria after weeks at sea.

2. High-efficiency, powerful extrusion and specialized screw design
To handle the specific materials processed by the Egyptian client—such as packaging films, stretch film edge trim, and HDPE/LDPE regrind—the equipment utilizes high-quality 38CrMoAlA alloy screws that have undergone nitriding and bimetallic hardening treatments. The screw’s length-to-diameter (L/D) ratio was meticulously engineered to ensure thorough and uniform plastic melting; this eliminates internal voids and impurities within the pellets, significantly enhancing the tensile strength and visual transparency of the recycled granules. 💡 Technical Highlights: Intelligent Temperature Control and Overheat Protection

To accommodate the high ambient temperatures of Egyptian summers, the control system features an independent fan cooling setup and a PID intelligent multi-stage temperature controller. With a temperature control precision of ±1°C, the system prevents plastic scorching caused by overheating during prolonged, high-load operation, thereby effectively extending the equipment’s service life.

3. High-Speed Rotating Air-Cooled Pelletizing Head: Uniform, Rounded Pellets
The pelletizing head utilizes a high-precision variable-speed motor and alloy rotary cutters. The cutters fit tightly against the die, producing pellets that are uniform in size, rounded, and full in shape. After cutting, the pellets are conveyed directly to a vertical storage silo via high-pressure airflow; they cool thoroughly without sticking together and are ready for immediate reuse in blown film or injection molding machines.
